We also learn that Karvanista (Craige Els), the canine Lupari, was a member of Jo Martin's Division squad, making him - at least - several thousand years old.

So I'm guessing we'll see them both again and have their stories actually connect to The Doctor, otherwise both characters could have been excised from the series so far and nothing would have changed for the TARDIS team. It turned out that her story - as it stands - actually had no direct connection to The Doctor, and neither did Vinder's. Outside of these core threads, we were also introduced to plucky Bel (Thaddea Graham), trying to find her lost love in the wake of The Flux ( who I, mistakenly, thought was being set-up as a companion of the Jo Martin Doctor). It was simultaneously cool and uncomfortable to see The Doctor operating in such an overtly military setting, working with the clandestine Time Lord organisation known as Division ( which feels like a reskinning of the Celestial Intervention Agency from the old Doctor Who novels). This was a clever gimmick to give us some backstory for Dan and Vinder ( revealing why he ended up alone in the observation station in deep space), as well as have The Doctor experience her pre-William Hartnell life as Jo Martin's Doctor ( first seen in Fugitive of The Judoon).
To escape last week's cliffhanger, Jodie Whittaker's Doctor hurled herself, Dan, Yaz, and Vinder ( who she hadn't met until that moment) into the time vortex, sending them all back into their own time streams.
